I purchased furniture from Value City on 07/05/2014 at which time I was prepared to pay with my credit card and was told by the associate that I should consider a program available especially those trying to build their credit. I was told there was a 90 day same as cash but to build my credit I should pay for at least a year.

I in turn I agreed to the program and accepted an insurance program called Benefit plus which I was told covers unemployment, illness, disability and death. My first issue is that I have paid on the furniture for a full year as suggested and the balance has only decreased by $70. Their representatives will begin harrassing calls the day the payment is due called up to 15 times a day. If they cant reach by the next day they begin calling your family and friends you have listed as references.

In reference to the benefits plus I have contacted acceptance now for 4 months attempting to use my benefits because I have been ill and out of work. Each month I am given a different reason I am unable to utilize my insurance. Once told I would have to come into the store with doctors notes, I asked if there was paperwork I need some paperwork I would need to complete and told just bring them in. I contacted my doctor who in turn told me there should be form to be completed, they continued to harass me with 10 calls per day and I just decided to make the payment.

The following month I was told I would need to make the payment and then they would send out the paperwork, so I made the payment again and no paperwork was received. The third month I was told they werent sure but they would have a manager call me with no return call.

I called today 10/18/2015 and have called everyday since the payment was due on the 15th and each time no one could give me an answer until today, and I was told the person who answered didnt know, I was placed on hold and upon return I was told I would have to submit doctors notes and I again asked if there was a form and was told they were sure. I am attempting to utilize insurance for which I am paying and have refused month after month and harrassed non stop.

Reason of review: Benefits now refusal.

Monetary Loss: $1469.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Acceptance Now Cons: With held information, Incompetent sales representative, Harrassment.
