I was in the process of working with Acceptance Now to purchase furniture for my apartment I desperately needed as I have been sitting/eating on the floor and one chair I have for the last 3 months. I was denied credit through Value City Furniture, and my VCF salesperson mentioned that I could still get the furniture through financing with Acceptance Now-which to be clear, this is NOT financing, it is a rental.
I applied and was accepted to purchase the couch set, and I was so excited. After being accepted, they asked for a lot of strange information. My apartment lease, my supervisor at work's info, 5+ references...just very, very, strange. The manner in which Acceptance Now was presented was that I was able to pay off my furniture and I had 90 days interest free financing which worked great for me.
I have been waiting to hear about delivery of my furniture which was scheduled for this weekend, however I was called by Acceptance Now to provide ANOTHER reference. When I questioned what was happening the representative became defensive. I also should mention since "applying" I have had a magnitude of telemarketers calling my cellphone. My intuition after hanging up with the rep and providing another references was pretty high and I Googled Acceptance Now and found so many terrible reviews and how they scam people.
I then called the store and told them I wished to cancel my order and was told the manager was out and I would have to wait. I then proceeded to call the customer service line and spoke to two representatives and then a supervisor who bumped my information to the district manager. Since, I am able to pick up my deposit. But my warning to others, is these people are dishonest and I feel so taken advantage of, disgusted, and disappointed.
Was severely mislead by the salesperson, the rep for Acceptance Now, and overall, I am angry. Not okay to scam hardworking people.
Reason of review: Order processing issue.
Acceptance Now Cons: Lies, Poor customer service, Scam.
