Acceptance Now - Review in Furniture and Decor category

I was completely uninformed about the rates of my purchase if my item was not paid off within 90 days. I had made two weekly payments when the company said I needed to start paying monthly and they would no longer take my weekly payments ,so i started making monthly payments my item should be paid off I go to ask them how many more payments I have left and they tell me I still have 8 more payments left I said no actually as of now I have overpaid by $200 they were completely unhelpful I called Corporation they were completely unhelpful I had no copy of my lease i asked them to send me copy which they sent me without my signature on it this company is a complete rip-off do not use!!!!!

This is The biggest scam I have ever been in. I'm paying $5000 on a 1200 sofa.

I just don't see how this is legal and they are ruder as ***.

Don't feel bad, we were the same way. I am paying off this *** today!

We have made payments since October so payed almost 1000 already and now have to pay another 1600 to buy out of this contract which is *** so I'm paying 2700 for a couch that is only worth 1500.

I am completely disgusted with them I will never use their company again. They are basically not worried that their customers are unhappy or have children to care for.

Extremely high payoff fees compared to the sticker price. If you are even one day late on your payment, they will harass you with phone calls and eventually want to talk to you about coming to collect your merchandise REGARDLESS of how much you have already paid.

They sent a guy to collect my television set on CHRISTMAS EVE if I didn't bring my payment current that was 52 days past due. I asked for more time because of my Christmas spending and they threatened to take my TV, despite the fact that I have already paid more than DOUBLE the sticker price.

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM OR H.H. GREGG (The store where I made the purchase) AGAIN!!!

I suggest you let your credit card company know about this and if they refuse to issue a new card to prevent further withdrawals take your money elsewhere. I use AmexServe prepaid debit card which can be used for Direct Deposit but I use it only as a card I add money to for free and use it for all online purchases never my Direct Deposit card.

AmexServe is a great company and their card is free to use free to load with no monthly fees. If you lose it they replace free within one week.

Notify your credit card company and get a new card immediately or they will never stop taking money from you. It is illegal to do what they do and your CC company should be willing to help you.

If not, take your money out and go to a new company. I use AmexServe prepay debit card and not my Direct Deposit for any online purchases.

I believe you I've sent emails and left messages and a week later still no return all or email. Bad business.I've been to Bob's cceptance now everyday for 3weeks straight because i was so undecided theres really nice furniture there. But the customer service associates need some training on how to talk and treat customers.

DONT DO IT. I ended up paying 5x the amount and now they have made a mistake on my credit report.they say I'm more than 30 days late.IM NOT LATE ITS PAID OFF.

I have called everybody I know of to no avail . i should have sat on milk creates .JOSH the mgr in Nashville tn is a lying cheat . i bought 600 worth of stuff when i got home and really looked at the contract i went back the next day with cash and tried to pay the 600 they refused and said i couldn't do that, so a 17mo go by of me paying 159 a mo then i decide to go into the store and said come get the furniture they said the would the next day but did not instead they called and said if i gave them 50 bucks they would close out the account so i said ok then the next day they call and say they changed their minds and i gave to pay 400 by this time the payment is late ,so then I'm told that the mgr would call me and for me not to worry.

that call never came until a month later thay show up at my house with a truck wanting me to give them the stuff i said no. so now i check my credit and because of this *** aka their screw up my score has dropped pver 80 points.NASHVILLE TN

I did an online application, all the hype says no credit checks so i fill out the app and bam a denial. All my info was filled in correctly so i call the toll free number and get an excuse as the system couldn't verify my references which there is no way to verify a reference in 3 seconds, this *** is false advertising and i better not see a credit inquiry from this company.

Acceptance Now - Furniture Leasing Review

We purchased a living room set. Made our initial payment and took our stuff home. 3 days later we found out that we had been double charged for the initial payment. Called and told the the mistake and they refunded the payment. The next week they called and said we never paid a down payment. We sent them proof 2 payments were taken out and one refunded. They still claim we are late. We made a police report to protect us and surr enough they showed up attempting to get the furniture. We called the police and they showed up. Looked at our paperwork and the paperwork they had. The police lost it on the people trying to take our stuff we paid for. The police even showed them on their own paperwork where we were double changed and one was refunded. We show where we had a payment coming due but were not late. The people were told to leave or be arrested. Still have not resolved the issue and they have reported to the credit bureaus we are late. Now ots a big mess that has the police and soon to be court system involved. Dont do business with them. They all lie and they will take your money and furniture if you let them. If your stuck and have proof they are doing you worng report it to the police. It will be time for them to show up in a few days to attempt to repo my furniture i have paid for and the police will be called. I hope at some point they all are eather arrested or this company goes out of business.

Blatant Lies from Customer Service

When I entered into my lease with Acceptance Now, while in the store (HH Gregg) I set up my payments to be automatically drafted out of my checking account so that I wouldn't have to worry about being late on the payments. I use my checking account because my account is set up with Text Alerts from my bank so that if I were to have something presented for payment that I didn't have enough money in the account to cover it, I will receive a text from my bank alerting me to make a deposit before the end of business. When the first payment didn't come out, they said it was returned for insufficient funds. I told them that that was impossible. So, I thought that maybe the girl had made an error when she entered my account info. No problem, I checked the account myself online and I could not set up automatic drafts because it said that it had to be authorized in the store. So, I went to the store with a screen shot of the message I got online. The girl said she would fix it. Four months later it is still not fixed and they called me saying that my payments were returned for insufficient funds. I have told them REPEATEDLY that that was impossible because of how my account is set up with my bank and I've never gotten an alert for any of their payments. They added three insufficient funds fees to my account saying that the bank had returned my payments, which was a lie. I went to the store and called my bank while sitting with the customer service rep and the bank verified that there has NEVER been anything presented for payment from Acceptance. I refused to pay the returned check fees because there was NEVER anything returned to them. I have done all that I can do on my part to insure that my payments are made timely by setting up automatic drafts but Acceptance has lied repeatedly and obviously has a problem somewhere on their end with submitting ACH transactions.

NO GRACE PERIOD WHATSEVER. HOUNDED FROM THE DAY THE PAYMENT IS DUE.

THEY COME TO YOUR DOOR, THEY ACT AS IF THEY WILL TAKE YOUR FURNITURE AT THE DROP OF A HAT, WHILE CHARGING THE HIGHEST INTEREST RATE EVER. WE HAVE ALREADY PAID DOUBLE WHAT OUR FURNITURE IS WORTH, YET THEY INSIST ON HOUNDING US. WE PAY EVERY MONTH...DATE VARIES BUT ALWAYS PAY...YET THEY CONTINUE TO CALL AND THREATEN US WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING AGAIN THROUGH THEM. IT IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS.

AND THE FURNITURE IS NOT DURABLE AT ALL. NOT WORTH A HEART ATTACK AND ALL THE HEADACHE.

I have worked there and terrible communication I had to clean up a lot of deals why can't you just be upfront with customers instead of hiding things... a lot of things going on unethical but mgmt doesn't want to confront issues therefore making the situation more difficult to deal with , just be upfront and no surprises later... NOT COOL!!!!

I bought furniture from Winner Furniture through Acceptance Now and after two months I lost my job. I then lost my house.

I called Acceptance Now for 2 months trying to get them to pick up the furniture. At first they kept telling me they would call m to schedule a pick up of the furniture. They never did. I called weekly and would be put on hold for 1/2 hr or more just to be told the same things over and over again even though I had to move and expressed this to them they still refused to call me back or pick up furniture.

After a month a district manager called me back and stated that they could not pick up furniture because I was behind on payments???? Now wouldn't that be the reason you do pick up the furniture? She then sent me a copy of the contract which states that I would owe up until surrender date, which I have tried to surrender several times now, but no where does it state they would not pick it up if payments were not current. Now no one is responding to my calls or my emails at all.

I call daily and try to get them to pick up the furniture and each time I am told they cannot help me they will put my call to higher up.....I would not deal with these people.

I realize I will owe them but I am trying to give them their furniture back and they refuse to deal with it. Awful customer service.

We financed our TV through Acceptance Now. I paid online, every week during our 90 days same as cash period, for the full $950 cost of the TV. A few months later we were checking our credit to purchase a home...we saw an outstanding balance with Acceptance now of over $1,000. I thought there was a mistake. We went into their office where we were told "same as cash" payments needed to be made IN THE STORE to be applied to the balance and our agreement was changed to a "rental" status, which was now paid for several months in advance. We asked where in the contract that was stated, we were told the sales person should have told us at the time of purchase. ...obviously no one ever told us.

I keep getting calls from "Bill" looking for someone they claim listed me as a contact. I keep telling him that person cannot be reached by contacting me, but he doesn't seem to care or believe me.

I blocked the first number he was calling me from, which, when I Googled it, was registered to a Rent A Center in CT. The new number Bill called me from is registered to a Bob's Furniture in CT. Bill won't give me any information about where he's calling from or why he's calling, other than "You're listed as a contact." I blocked the new number too. Next time I get a call from ANOTHER new number, I'm showing up in person with the police, because I'm sick of being harassed.

Whoever this person is has a threatening tone, and these calls make me very uneasy. I'M NOT EVEN THE PERSON HE WANTS TO REACH. Leave.

I am currently having the acceptance now in orlando florida at the hhgreg store harrassing me with calls to my work and home several times a day. I am not even due till the 15th of February!!

I never gave them my work number because i work at a school and cant have personal calls.

They somehow got it and they call anyway. I will never do business with this company again!!!

The worst experience I've ever had in trying to purchase anything . Was approved & sent home with tv the bedroom set was never delivered & I was purchasing the store display . Have spoke to Corp 2 times & cancelled the order ... But they will not pick up the tv that they insisted i take home the night the order was selected , 2 weeks later they have my down payment I have no furniture except tv that they refuse to write up a contract for me to purchase nor will they pick up tv . Absolutely impossible to speak to anyone at Conns or acceptance now they refuse All calls . I am fed up . Told them I'll be turning this over to an attorney ... Beware people . Don't buy from them . They are All talk there is no listening .... The worst business practices ever in my life ....
