Never again will I use this company.They have changed the total amount owed twice. I went with the 90 day pay off option, and would only make three payments to pay my purchase off. I made the first two payments early. When I attempted to make the third and final payment, early, I was given a different (higher) pay off amount. Then this guy was trying to explain to me that my payments don't entirely go towards the pay off amount. Huh? Why not? He couldn't answer! Too much inconsistency. One account Manager says one thing and the other says another. They have no accountability to the stores that they work in. I asked for a manager on Ashley Furniture side and they refuse to help. But when purchasing, they have much to say due to the sales commissions! I had the 90day plan, but each time I inquired there was a different answer. Inconsistency! I pay online so, it doesn't give me a correct balance. I now am supposedly due to owe double $2000 for $800. Please update this as we're now in twenty first century,and Rent a Center, AcceptanceNOW is a Billion dollar company ,and please update your product NOW!

RAC and RTG should not be in the same bldg is they cannot both be accountable

RAC charges waiver and benefit plus fees that were not requested. RAC does not have nothing to do with Rooms to go so why are they doing business together. Both parties should be accountable to the customer. RAC should make extensions when customer is not satisfied with RTG furniture. RTG should not neglect customers issue and do all they can to make the customer satisfied. Both parties should be accountable to the customer. This place is the worst place I've ever done business with, astronomical fees, that they dont explain until after you sign the lease, had I known only $20 went towards the principal from a $200 payment I would have left this *** in the store. Customer service is a joke and so are the people that take the payment, I've never had to jump through hoops to make a payment. Buyer's beware DONT GET INVOLVED WITH ACCEPTANCE NOW!!! Acceptance Now Manager Review

Bought furniture thru Rac. Paid all payments on time. They even double charged me one month. Missed the last payments to pay it off by two days. They stick you 400 dollars fee. Tried to talk to the rep then the sales manager both incompetent. I will never use this scam again.I will also be in front of there store this weekend warning people of there practices.

As I sit here reading all the complaints of everyone that has done business with RAC.....I see myself in everyone's shoes. They are a bunch of crooks. I have been trying for months to get an early payoff on my acct and the rep at HH Greg store in Lithonia, GA keeps telling me she CAN'T give me the early payoff unless I pay the past due...well that's a bunch a bull...never heard of a company not being able to give an early pay off unless I pay the past due...well, let's just say I let her file the lawsuit so i can see what the payoff was, and get the notice of a suit being filed against me, I called her and she told me $1070....well ***, I been paying over a year for the washer and dryer and I told her that wasn't right. She told me I did the retention program which started me ALLLLL OVER from the beginning.....which that is a lie because it doesn't start the amount back to where it originally was from the first day of payments...I guess she to dumb to think about what happens to the payments that were done before the retention, where did the payments get applied to.....and not to even mention...I wasn't told anything about my payments starting over because THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANYTHING TO SIGN.....smh...this company scams people out of their money,.....and from the words of the manager, she told me today that people think the system is giving out the wrong payment amount but what customers don't understand is that only a few dollars is applied toward the payoff amount. I tell you want, we will go to court and let the judge see how this company is charging customers 3x's the amount of an item and only credits a few dollars toward the purchased product. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are going though this as well, I had to blocked there calls because they were calling 5- 10 times a day, and calling my references even though I answered. They even illegaly reported this item to my wife's credit and the bed is in my name and not my wife's.

I am going to probably start legal action against them soon. Oh the way, My bed was $3900 cash price and I paid over 10K so far for it. These people are scam artist. Do your self a favor and Save your money and time.

Dont use them. Oh and I tryed to pay this off a couple of times and every time they would make me pay a month and leave me with not enough money to pay it off.

HARASSING PHONE CALLS AFTER ONLY BEING 3 DAYS LATE ON PAYMENT

We received at least 2 to 3 calls a day from RAC. They had called for a week and a half when we finally were able to make the payment.

We were only 3 days behind when the phone calls started. My wife was in the hospital for a week, she had major surgery a few months ago and had some complications from that surgery. So with all the other expenses that we have now, we need to wait for payday to pay some bills.

They even had the nerve to call references, how embarrassing is that? I will never do business with RAC again, I would rather find another way.

I totally understand how you feel. They start calling me on my due date.

I ignore them because they are the most unprofessional people I have ever met. They are running a mafia style scam by having you pay 3 times the amount of the furniture by the time you are finished with your payments. I was in a tough position and had to use them, but I am disgusted with the fact that they are OK with doing business this way.

I would never use them again.

"Only 3 days late" is still late. Whenever you can't pay a bill for whatever reason, you need to call the creditor and explain the circumstances and when they can expect your payment.

Most will work with you and will even waive any late fees.

However, simply not paying, as you did, will result in collection calls and attempts to track you down by calling your references. Hopefully you will communicate and make better choices in the future as all of this could've been avoided.

I tried explaining to them that my mother had just passed! My mother! And that i had to come out of pocket for funeral expenses you think they cared? NOooo!!!!

And thats when they started harassing my references! Not only is that embarrassing but they should be ashamed of themselves.

They honestly made my grieving that much worse never again! If someone knows of a lawyer i would really appreciated.

I purchased furniture at Ashley home furniture in nanuet ny. Total cost of the furniture was 2079.00. ThAt was a year ago. I have paid 284.00 a month for a year. That equals 2556.00 for my furniture in one year. I asked today how much to pay off my furniture and was told by Rac acceptance 2199. So basically I will end up paying 6000 dollars for furniture that cost 2079. Only 1/3 of what I paid each month actually went to my furniture.

My granddaughter had the same problem a mattress that cost less than 600.00 cost her 1200.00 just to get credit but was never explained to her that way a rip off

Victor Poulson in the Greenville, NC furniture fair is an absolute crook! He is unprofessional, rude, and a liar! A month after purchasing the furniture we had a death in the family and had issues with the second payment at that time I told them why don't you just come and pick it up. He threatened me and said sure I can have somebody out there today to come and get it but it will affect your credit the only way you can return it without affecting your credit will be for you to return it after 4 months. Fast forward four months because obviously I don't want to ruin my credit, we decided that we wanted to return it and get something better for our money. We only purchased a living room set a mattress and a dresser with a mirror and it was going to be costing us over $8,000. When my fiance called and said we wanted to return it was a problem from then on. if he couldn't have somebody come out before our due date to pick up the furniture he was stating that we would be liable for a full months rent which is $270. We stated in the contract it clearly states that we can call anyone after 4 months to have it returned without penalty. It is not MY problem that they can not get a truck out here. It gets me even more mad bc it would have been $200 to have it delivered to our house so we had to pick up and assemble all of the furniture ourselves. my fiance xanax for supervisors number and Victor stated that there was no one above him that we would be able to speak with so we hung up with him search in Google and found a number to acceptance now contacted them and they wrote to his district manager so now I'm sitting here waiting for whenever the district manager gives us a call back and stay to whether or not it's going to affect our credit which i think is absolutely ridiculous. We followed the contract why is it as are being penalized still? I will never shop with this company again!

I misspelled a few things because I was speaking in my phone and my phone typed. We actually had the furniture 6 months not 4 when we called to have them come pick it up. I still haven't heard from the district manager and I have new furniture being delivered Wednesday smh.

ACCEPTANCE NOW (ROOMS TO GO STORE # 6024)

I am writing this complaint to shed light on the false information that Acceptance Now has been giving me, Melvin Blackwell, during the course of our business arrangement. In April of 2014 I was able to secure a business arrangement with Rooms to Go through their Acceptance Now program.

The cost would be 206.49 dollars per month on the first of the month. October 2014 was my last payment that I made to Rooms to Go Acceptance Program. In October, I walked into Store number 6024 which is at 11030 Philips Hwy at Jacksonville Florida 32256 and a colleague by the name of Patricia has informed me that during the course of my business arrangement with them that I can postpone up to three payments to the end of the loan. My plan was to pay off the entire living room set in February of 2015 to close the loan totally.

My last payment was in October of 2014 which would mean that my next payment would be on November 01, 2014 and this payment would not be required at this time for it is pushed to the end of the loan.I spoke to Patricia once more in November and asked if I can duplicate the arrangement that I set up in October for my November 01, 2014 for the payment on Dec 01, 2014 and she had no issues with that due to the fact that I would be paying off everything in February of 2015 regardless. This second arrangement would bring me to a payment date of January 01, 2015. During the course of my second request that Patricia authorized I have been receiving countless calls from several colleagues of the store asking for payment despite the fact that this arrangement had been set. I have received calls from Patricia and another colleague by the name of William who was identified to me as a manager countless times.

My last call came from Scott Bunkosky, district manager, who informed me that I can be placed in a program that would reduce my payments. Apparently the store closed this option on January 2015. Scott Bunkosky gave me two options. Pay or have furniture taking away.

This place is a joke - they claim to want to assist people who have poor credit but what they are doing is keeping you down. How is it possible to start out with a debt of 3000 and a year later they tell u that in order to close the acct another 2500 is needed on top of the 4,000 u have already paid.

The sad part is that even store managers are baffled with my situation and can't give me answers and their so called DM tells me that he can make a deal and accept another 1,000 but can't give me a professional educated response on why another 1,000 is needed.

... I'm now waiting for the RM to contact me - its been a week!!!

RAC ACCEPTANCE, ACCEPTANCE NOW, RENT A CENTER..STAY FAR AWAY.. CHARGE OFF

I contracted through RAC Acceptance at Bob's in Stoughton. I rented a dining table, coffee table, end tables, rug, and two reclining chairs. I returned the furniture because when I purchased it the salesperson told me the tables I bought were real wood. Months later I found out the real wood were actually particleboard. I called the store and asked if I could keep the rug and chairs and return the fake wood products. She told me no and that I would have to return everything. Considering I entered into a rental agreement, I decided to return the products. Additionally, my contract states it's a rental agreement through a month to month rental and if I decided I no longer wanted the furniture I can return it with no penalty and with no further obligation-as long as I was current when I turned the furniture in. I called the store for two straight months asking for them to pick up the furniture. They kept telling me they would arrange a pick up date. The date would come and no one would come out. Finally, I told them to pick the furniture up or I would sit it outside. They were out the next day to pick up the furniture. I also made sure and informed them that my payment was current when I first told them to pick up the furniture. Months later I checked my credit report and noticed Rac Acceptance has placed a $5k + Charge Off on my credit report and the furniture only cost $1,700.00. The company has now had possession of the furniture for the past eight months and have resold and or rented the property to another individual (probably trough Rent A Center) and is also charging me for inflated interest up to 36 months. I rented the furniture for 10 months and made all payments. I am so frustrated and will be contacting legal to see if I have a case.My contract states Rental Terms, "Monthly," with no maturity date (however, they are charging me for 36 months). Whatever you do run far away from this company.

I I am rent a dining room table from Rent-A-Center from last year and I am still making payments can someone tell me if there is a class action suit that I can't get involved in because this is ridiculous I am paying $47 every two weeks and cannot finish pay for this table

The second day I relived they was charging me 6k for a sofa and Love seat that they say cost 1,700 which really wasn't worth even that. Over 30 days and they still haven't picked it up.

Loan Review

The worst finance company ever!! The repeated phone calls to my friends and family that have nothing to do with my loan. This is the biggest scam because you never pay down your loan, you are always paying the high interest and the loan amount never goes down. Beware of this company!! You will regret it
